Window Switch

Question: Hi how you doing ? Remember me ?
I have electrical problem with my kia shuma 2000 . first when I turn on headlight the clock will go out and high beam will turn on . also the master power window switch (driver side) work backwards the one to open right rear window is for driver side window. The rest of the window cant be open from master switch. So where should I start ? The electric mirror dont work either thanks.
Felix

Answer: Hello Felix; Yes, of course I remember you. Your headlight dimmer switch might be defective if it does not turn highbeams off. If it is in the steering colum the multi function turn signal switch may be bad. It works with the BCM & clock radio. Call OEM Dealer & after market to see if they have this multifuntion switch it should work your high and low beam headlights.
Now with the master control switch for windows it is either in backwards and the widow lock is on or the switch is defective. Remember check all the fuse in both fuse boxes, under hood and under dash key on engine off. Also make sure your battery is good and the charging system is working good. If the alternator has been replaced recently try disconecting the alternator and see if the problem with the clock light still exist.
I think you have two bad switches Multifunction turnsignal switch and window master switch, If the new car dealership has both of the switches in stock then they are probably a common problem.
Please let me know what happens with this repair. Talk to you soon Jason Varnum.

Reply: Hi; what you said is true I replaced the power window switch and it fix the power window problems . I havent replaced the turn signal switch yet . I could not find the parts for it. Thanks for your help .

2001 Chevy Cavaliar

I have a 2001 Chevy Cavaliar, It makes a quick clunk sound when I start the
car then it disappears right away. Do you have any idea what that may be?
Thank you in advance for any idea you could pass on to me it would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks, Frank

Hello Frank, Did this just start? Did you just get this car? Did this noise start right after the last repair? If it is not a loose Sarter, you can put your hand on it and wiggle it. It could be to much oil clearance on the Crankshaft bearings, Rods and Mains. I always recomend to drive your vehicle below half throtle if you have any odd noises so it will last until your ready to repair it. The way to fix it if it is rods or mains is to do a crank kit and resize the rods. I'll be coming out with a video on engine rebuilding and I'll be able to show you how to repair this. It also could be something rattling with your front pully system. I hope this helped you and look forward to more questions. Thank you and kind regards Jason Varnum with www.autorepairdvd.com
